Tourism Season is in Full Swing

Tourism is an integral part of State’s economy as it is the second largest industry in Wyoming. Sheridan has benefitted from being sandwiched in between Yellowstone National Park to the west, and Devils Tower and the Black Hills to the east. However, Sheridan has become a tourist destination of its own, as the area boasts a rich history and an unparalleled western culture.

Sheridan Travel and Tourism Executive Director Shawn Parker says that it’s been busy since Memorial Day weekend.

According to the Wyoming Office of Tourism, travel spending in the state grew to just under 3.4 billion last year, which was an increase of over $9 million from the previous year. The number of visitors to the state continues to rise as well, as the 10.5 million visitors to Wyoming last year was over 4 percent more than in 2014.
