On Saturday, a Peterbilt commercial truck towing a trailer crashed into two separate propane tanks and a storage shed resulting in a fire. The crash closed Wyoming State Highway 51 east of Gillette for an extended period and the crash resulted in the death of the trucks driver.

While the truck was traveling east it crossed into the westbound lane and struck a guardrail in the north ditch. The truck continued on its trajectory until it hit the tanks. The driver, who was identified as an adult male, is believed to have experienced a medical condition prior to the crash. Troopers believe the driver was deceased before the truck actually crashed and caught fire. Highway 51 was re-opened after being closed for about four hours.
