Update: The Wyoming Highway Patrol has identified the driver as 52-year-old Michael Robeson of Las Vegas, Nevada. According to the patrol report, he was driving a 2001 Freightliner commercial truck pulling a trailer westbound on I-90 when a passing motorist motioned to him that some of the tires on the trailer had caught fire. After pulling over, Robeson and responding Troopers were able to dampen the fire with extinguishers but were unsuccessful in fully putting the fire out.

Noon News Update: No one was injured in a semi tractor-trailer rig fire incident Saturday afternoon that caused the closure of Interstate 90 between Sheridan and Buffalo.

The roadway was closed for about an hour and a half. Ronda Holwell of the state transportation department gave us the initial report, then a follow-up this morning. She said a state trooper was the first on the scene.

She said the vehicle was an Atlas moving van, but didn’t know where it was coming from. Captain Gary Harnish of Sheridan Fire-Rescue said the contents in the van were heavily damaged by fire, smoke and water. The cause has yet to be determined.
