The 17th annual Tuba Christmas in Sheridan will be Saturday, December 17 at 1:30 pm in the Holiday Inn atrium.

Registration for all tuba, baritone, and euphonium players who’d like to take part in the event, will be the morning of the 17th at 9:15 at the Sheridan Wesleyan Church. Rehearsal will begin at 9:30 and all participants need to bring a music stand if they have one.

Coordinator Ariel Downing said there is a $10 registration fee, and books of specially arranged Christmas carols will be available for purchase. She said the registration fee goes directly to the Harvey Phillips Foundation, to help promote Tuba Christmas worldwide.

Downing said that the Tuba Christmas band typically involves local musicians, although performers have come from as far away as Montana, Idaho, South Dakota and Colorado. She added that the concert at the Holiday Inn is free of charge and will feature a selection of traditional Christmas carols.
