The University of Wyoming now has some of its “Hopalong Cassidy” collection available online.
In a statement released by the university, we've learned that the college's Wyoming American Heritage Center has digitized some of the William Boyd collection.
Boyd is the man who portrayed the western hero “Hopalong,” in movies and on radio and television shows from the 1930s to 1950s.
According to the university release, Boyd acquired all rights to the character in 1948 and consolidated all Hopalong enterprises, then began a highly profitable business promoting the character. He retired in 1953 and died in 1972.
