University of Wyoming Trustees Extend Buchanan's Contract 1 Year

LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) - University of Wyoming trustees have extended President Tom Buchanan's contract by another year. It had been set to expire June 30, 2011, but trustees on Friday extended it through June 30, 2012. He will make $350,000 a year, the same amount since getting a $50,000 raise in May of 2008.

Trustees President Chuck Brown praised Buchanan's leadership, saying the trustees are delighted with the progress the university has been making. Buchanan has been president since 2006. He previously served as interim president and as the university's vice president for academic affairs.
