U.S. Senator Mike Enzi Expresses Disappointment On Health Care Bill

U.S. Senator Mike Enzi released a statement Wednesday that expressed his disappointment with the Senate Finance Committee's Health Care Reform bill.

Enzi said that he has many concerns with the current proposal.

Enzi said that he was proud of the work put in by his fellow Senators, in particular Chairman Max Baucus and Ranking Member Chuck Grassley. Enzi stated that they resisted calls for partisanship in an effort to craft a health care proposal that would provide health care coverage for all Americans.

While not happy with the current proposal, Enzi did say that he remains committed to working on health care reform proposals that will have broad bipartisan support. The proposal doesn't include the so-called "public option" opposed by many Republicans.

Enzi is a member of the "Gang of Six" - three Republicans and three Democrats on the Finance Committee working toward compromise on the bill.
