Arrest Made in Halloween Altercation

An 18-year-old man from Cheyenne has been arrested in connection with an altercation at the University of Wyoming that left a student injured.

Isaac Garcia, who is not a student at the university, was arrested for aggravated assault in the incident that injured 20-year-old Luke McConville of Casper. The altercation happened Saturday at a residence on Flint Street. The information’s coming from the university’s public relations department
The university police department, which responded to the fight as a cooperating agency with the Laramie Police Department, is in charge of the investigation. University Police Chief Mike Samp says information provided by the public helped expedite the investigation.

The case is still under investigation, but follow-up with two other juvenile suspects is being completed and police believe all suspects connected to the case have been identified.

McConville, who suffered serious head injuries, has continued to show improvement and has been moved out of intensive care at a hospital in Denver.
