UW Receives $20 Million Grant

Recently, the University of Wyoming was awarded a $20 million grant from the National Science Foundation. UW Director of Institutional Communications Chad Baldwin explained that the money will be used over a period of five years.

During the research process, the university expects to stimulate significant economic and business opportunities across Wyoming. Baldwin shares some of the factors that led to UW securing the grant instead of another institution.

According to one of UW’s Botany Professors, Brent Ewers, “This project will provide a mechanism to counteract the boom-and-bust cycles of Wyoming’s energy-based economy.”
