Public Pulse listeners received a recap this week on Tuesday’s opening dedication of the new science, technology, engineering and math center at the state university in Laramie.

Spokesman Chad Baldwin reminded listeners that the Enzi STEM Facility is named after Wyoming’s long-time Senator Mike Enzi, then talked about the dedication and the facility.

He also said the new university president, Lauri Nichols, has been making several visits, prior to her start date in May.

Nichols has been working at South Dakota State since 2009, as provost and executive vice president for academic affairs. Baldwin said she’ll have an appointment at the University of Wyoming as a tenured full professor in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources. As the university’s 26th president, she’ll succeed President Dick McGinity, who has held the position since January of 2014.
