Winds Reached up to 66 mph Overnight, Outages Reported

High winds coming from the Southwest last night reaching up to 66 miles per hour throughout the evening have caused some power outages to be reported in Sheridan County.

Spokesperson for MDU Laura Lueder told Sheridan Media that sporadic outages have been reported since last night in Sheridan, Big Horn and Ranchester. She said the outages are occurring because of tree branches taking out lines and the high winds overnight caused lines to slap together, as well.

She said crews are out right now working to repair the outages, and anyone who is experiencing an outage should call 1-800- MDU-Fast to receive help. Lueder said there is not an official number yet on how many homes are affected, but she will have that information available later in the day. We will give you more information as it comes along.
