Work Starts Soon on West Fifth, North Interchange Projects

Spokeswoman Ronda Holwell from the Wyoming Department of Transportation regional office in Sheridan gave us a project update during a recent interview.

She said work is set to begin anytime on West Fifth Street, where they'll be widening a little less than a mile of the roadway from Midland to Soldier Creek.

The $2.9 million project is a joint venture between the city, county and state. In regard to the expected reconstruction of the North Interchange in Sheridan, she said that project has already begun by the removal of railroad tracks, with further preparation work to be done in the fall which will include the overpass and North Main Street. She said the work should not affect the traffic flow, this year, but will most likely over the next three summer seasons.

The overall cost of the North Interchange project comes to $60 million dollars.
