YMCA Aquatic Center Update

For about four years, the Sheridan County YMCA has been working on building a brand new aquatic center for the community. Executive Director of the Y, Jay McGinnis, said that ground is expected to be broken on the project soon.

The new center will be connected to the existing YMCA facilities on the south end where the soccer fields currently sit. The old pool area will be repurposed after the new center is up and running. McGinnis paints a picture of what the center will provide to Sheridan County.

Once the project is started, McGinnis anticipates that they will need around 18 months to get it completely built. The plan is to get the building up this summer and continue working on the inside through the winter.
