Graveside funeral services for Bill McLees, 71 year old Buffalo man who passed away Saturday morning at the Johnson County Health Care Center, will be held Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in Willow Grove with VFW and American Legion in charge of military graveside rites with Reverend Tom Saur officiating. Donations in Mr. McLees’ memory may be made to Home Health Hospice in care of the Harness Funeral Home at 351 N. Adams in Buffalo. On line condolences may be made at

Wiliam Frank McLees was born on February 17,1942 in Cheyenne, Wyoming to Andrew and Lorraine McLees. He moved to Buffalo as a small child where he attended schools. He moved to California where he went to high school and joined the U.S. Navy when he was 17. He served in Vietnam during the early 1960’s when the U.S. was not officially involved in that conflict and had a separate document later attached to his discharge proving that he actually served in Vietnam. He was married on April 29, 1962 in Reno, Nevada to Margaret Hughes and they made their home in San Leandro and Bill worked in Oakland at a manufacturing plant. They moved to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho where Bill started a milk delivery business. In 1976 they moved to Wheatland, Wyoming where they lived for three years before moving to Gillette where Bill continued delivering milk. Bill moved to family where they lived for one year. They were divorced in 1985 and Bill moved back to Gillette where he worked construction. Ill health forced him to retire in 1997 and he moved to Buffalo where he lived until the time of his death.
Bill loved Wyoming and his animals. He also enjoyed breaking and training horses and working construction.

He is survived by three daughters, Lisa Myers and her husband George of Post Falls, Idaho, Tracy Ribota and her husband Tom of Manteca, California and Lesley Ribota and her husband Gilbert of Merced, California; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
