Private family services and interment for Carol Damson, 76 year old Buffalo woman who passed away quietly early Saturday morning at her home in Buffalo will be held by her family. Donations in Mrs. Damson’s memory may be made to the Susie Bowling Lawrence Hospice in care of the Harness Funeral Home at 351 N. Adams in Buffalo, Wyoming. Online condolences may be left at
Carol Marie Damson was born on August 15, 1940 in Farmington, Maine to Wallace and Rachel Amburg. She moved to Holland, Michigan when she was in the 4th grade where she grew up and went to school, graduating from Holland High with the class of 1958. She was married to Terry Greenwood in 1959 and they made their home in Holland. She and Terry divorced in 1970 and Carol continued living in Holland. From 1966 until 1994 Carol worked at Donnelly Mirrors, Simicon, DePree, Haworth, Frist Michigan Bank, ODL and Old Kent Bank. In 1994 Carol married Bob Damson, a classmate from fourth grade until graduation from Holland High. Bob and Carol moved West to Sheridan, Wyoming where she was a part-time secretary/Medical Transcriptionist in the Pathology Lab of Sheridan Hospital. They later moved to The Flathead Valley of Montana and the Black Hills of Wyoming. She and Bob returned to the Big Horn Mountains of Buffalo in September of 2014where they lived until her death.
Carol was active in theatre and initiated Window On the Waterfront with the City of Holland, Michigan.
She is survived by her husband Bob Damson of Buffalo; two sons, David Greenwood and his wife Karin of Holland, Michigan, and Jeff Greenwood and his wife Lisa of Douglas, Michigan; one daughter Laura Schout and her husband George of Allegan, Michigan; three step-sons, Mike Damson and his wife Melanie of Bothell, Washington, Scott Damson and his wife Karen of LaGrange, Georgia and Jeff Damson and his wife Julie of Sheridan, Wyoming; one step-daughter Janet Renken and her husband Todd of Tacoma, Washington; and five grandchildren. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Rachel and Martin Kolean of Holland, Michigan.
