A private family celebration of life for David Smith, 72 year old Buffalo resident who passed away suddenly at his home in Buffalo Sunday evening, will be held by his family. David Stanley Smith was born on January 2, 1944 in Taft, California to Stanley and Margaret Smith. He lived briefly in Colorado and later Casper, Wyoming before moving to Buffalo when he was in the 4th grade. He finished his schooling in Buffalo and graduated from Johnson County High School with the class of 1962. After high school he attended Sheridan College and later transferred to the University of Wyoming. During his university days he was a drummer in various rock and country bands. He took a job with the Laramie Fire Department where he worked for 26 years. He was married on July 15th, 1995 in Laramie to Brucie Connell and they made their home in Laramie. After David retired from the fire department they moved to Buffalo where they continued living until his death.
David loved music and spent countless hours converting his vast vinyl record collection to digital form. He also was an avid animal lover who regarded his dogs and many cats as part of his family.
David is survived by his wife Brucie Connell of Buffalo; one daughter Angie Littrell of Oregon; two sons Aaron Smith of Kuai, Hawaii and Nathan Smith of Guernsey Island, England his mother Peggy Smith of Buffalo; two sisters, Diane Milnichak and her husband Tim of Casper, Wyoming and Nancy Russell Waggoner and her husband Garry of Wagner, Oklahoma and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and one brother James Smith.
