A memorial service for Jeannette (Lily) Daniels will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 26th at Dayton Community Church, 210 Bridge Street, Dayton, Wyoming. Friends and Family are invited.
Lillian Jeannette Daniels went to be with Our Lord and Savior on November 19, 2014 after a brief battle with lung cancer. Lillian (Jeannette or Lily as many knew her) was born on Valentine’s Day 1944 to Elizabeth (Bette) Louise and Grant Geiger in Chicago, Illinois. She spent her youth in Lincoln, Nebraska and upon graduation from Lincoln High School purchased a bus ticket to New York where she found work at Tiffany & Co. on Fifth Avenue. Later, she moved to Casper, Wyoming where she met and married Dan J. Daniels. They had a blended family of six children: Dan T., Paul, Danielle, Duane, Jenifer, and Darlene. In 1970 they moved to Dayton where they raised their family in the big, blue house on Main Street. Jeannette spent many days watching her children compete in sporting events at Tongue River High School and cooking for the large family. With so many kids of her own in the house, it was always full of other children from the neighborhood. Many who grew up in Dayton have fond memories of the times spend at the Daniels’s home. As the years went by and with all her children grown and on their own Jeannette decided the cold Wyoming weather was not for her, and in the fall of 2009 she loaded up her car and headed to North Carolina where she lived in Swansboro, a picturesque little town on the coast. She spent many hours at the beach, walking, collecting shells, working on her tan and enjoying friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and Dan J. Daniels
She is survived by sister Kaye Woods, brother Mike Geiger, children Dan (Wendy), Paul (Melody), Duane (Gosha), Danielle, Jenifer (Jim) Shassetz and Darlene Daniels and grandchildren Madison and Taylor Daniels, Emily, Jacob, Rachel, and Benjamin Daniels and Joe and Jamy Shassetz.
