Loren L. Helling

Loren L. Helling, 79, of Sheridan passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2012 at the Sheridan Manor.

Loren was born on March 30, 1933 at Walcott, ND to Elder and Annie (Kjelland) Helling. He graduated from high school in Walcott ND in 1953. He was inducted into the Army in April of 1953 were he was stationed at 11 Army post during his 2 years serving in various places in the U.S. and Europe, he was honorably discharged in April of 1955.

Loren was a brakeman on the N.P. Railroad from 1955 to 1958. He married Delores Perkins in November of 1956. He started Hellings Oriental Stucco Company in 1958 and later sold it in 1975.

Loren married Marlene Sukut in Anoka, MN in 1973. He bought the liquor store in Perley, MN in 1976 and sold it in 1980. They then moved to Sheridan, WY in 1980 and started Hellings Drywall Company and ran it until retirement in 1997. Later in 2001 he re-joined the workforce as a Walmart greeter, retiring again in 2007.

Loren was preceded in death by his parents and twin sister Lorene Sorile and sister, Arlene Clemenson. He is survived by his wife Marlene, a sister, Norma Lively of Mesa, AZ, three step-daughters, Cheryl Spivey of Sabin, MN, Deborah Cooper of Lingle, WY, Karen (Danny) Thompson of Reno, NV, grandchildren; Jessica (Leslie) Thompson of Geurnsey, WY, Christian (Sara) Cooper of Guernsey, WY, Wesley Cooper of Mitchell, NE, Charles and Cody Spivey of Sabin, MN, Garrett and Conner Coyne of Reno, NV and great grandchildren; TyLinn and Titus Cooper and Chace and Rylie Thompson all of Guernsey, WY and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services for Loren will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at the

Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Phil Wold officiating with a reception to follow at the church. Inurnment will be at the Riverside Cemetery in North Moorhead, MN in May, 2013.
