Funeral services for Taffy Garro, 59 year old Gillette woman who passed away late Christmas Day, at the Close to Home Hospice House in Gillette, will be held Friday, December 30th at 2:00 p.m. From the Adams Funeral Home Chapel in Buffalo with Reverend Tom Saur officiating. Interment will be in Willow Grove Cemetery with graveside committal services to follow the funeral. Donations in Taffy's memory may be made to Close to Home Hospice, in care of the Adams Funeral Home at 351 N. Adams in Buffalo.

Violet Kay Garro, affectionally known as Taffy, was born on October 28, 1952 in Casper, Wyoming the daughter Bill and Gerry Volk. She went to elementary school in Casper and moved with her family to Centralia, Washington where she graduated from Centralia High School with the class of 1971. She moved back to Casper where she met and married Ray Taylor in Kaycee in 1973. Taffy and Ray made their home in Kaycee until they divorced in 1981. On September 26, 1982 she married the love of her life, Mike Garro in Buffalo. And they made their home in Buffalo for several years. They moved to Douglas in 1991 where they lived on a ranch for three years. From 1995 to 2001they followed fiber optic construction and lived all over the United States. They settled in Gillette in 2001 and have lived there until her courageous battle with cancer came to an end. Taffy had many different professions, the one she enjoyed most was being a mom and wife. She was a very dedicated domestic engineer.

She is survived by the love of her life, and husband of 29 years, Mike Garro; two daughters, Melody Larson and her husband Dave of Buffalo and Crystal Nielsen and her husband Blaine also of Buffalo; one brother Billy Volk of Centralia, Washington; one sister Treeva Wood of Rock Springs, Wyoming; one sister-in-law Fran Gladden of Oregon; three brothers-in-law, Ed Garro of Buffalo, John Garro of Kaycee and Joe Garro of Gillette; and six granddaughters, Taylor, Ashley, Chrissy, Kylee, Kinzee, and Hope, and one grandson Bryce. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister Lila.
