09/09/09 Sports for Wednesday

SHS SWIMMING - The Lady Bronc swimmers and divers didn't win their dual in Laramie this past Friday, but they did get some good results. The highlight of the meet was getting three more State Meet qualifiers. Tomorrow they have a dual in Gillette, and once again this fall Gillette's team is very strong. But white says they always look forward to competing in Gillette's world class facility.

SHS CROSS COUNTRY - The Bronc and Lady Bronc cross-country runners have begun this season strong, and coming up are back-to-back great events in Casper and Spearfish, South Dakota. Head coach Art Baures says it's about building momentum now, and they really want to start working on getting faster over the next few weeks. Friday they run in Gillette, and the meet should present more good competition. Next week Sheridan High School will host the Michelle Ludwig Invitational.

SHS TENNIS - The Bronc and Lady Bronc tennis teams will get plenty of competition this week; they play matches in Gillette tomorrow, and then to on to Laramie and Cheyenne Friday and Saturday.

HS VOLLEYBALL - In volleyball action this week, the Tongue River Lady Eagles host the Big Horn Lady Rams tomorrow night in Dayton, then both teams compete in the Big Horn Invitational this weekend. The Lady Broncs play in Gillette tomorrow night, then they play at home Friday and Saturday with matches against Laramie and Kelly Walsh.

HS GOLF - The Sheridan bronc golfers head to Kingsport Tennessee this weekend for the 2009 McDonalds tournament of champions the rest of the Sheridan high school golfers along with Tongue River and Big Horn will all play at the Buffalo invitational.

HS FOOTBALL - In football action this week, the Sheridan Broncs are the only team that will play at home. The Big Horn Rams play in Burns, NSI plays at Pine Bluffs and the Tongue River Eagles play at Glenrock. The Eagles' game will be broadcast live Friday night at 6 o'clock on our sister station 95.9 FM.

The Broncs host #1-ranked Green River Friday night; we will have it live for you on AM 1410 KWYO. The First Federal pregame show starts at 6:30 with kick-off at 7 o'clock. UW - The Wyoming Cowboys play #2 Texas Saturday. The game will be broadcast on KWYO, with the pregame show starting at 12:30 and kickoff at 1:30.

NFL - The Denver Broncos open their regular season Sunday at Cincinnati you can hear the action live on KWYO starting at 10 am Sunday morning.
