2016 begins with a big week of local basketball / Broncos beat the Chargers to take the AFC top playoff seed

BRONC WRESTLING - The Bronc wrestlers hosted the Border war duals Saturday the Broncs beat Billings West 45-27 and dropped close matches with Senior and Skyview.

This week it's back into tournament action as the Broncs compete at the Shane Shatto invitational in Douglas.

BRONC / LADY BRONC BASKETBALL - The Bronc and Lady Bronc basketball teams play three games in Cheyenne at a tournament at East high school games get underway Thursday afternoon.

They will play Natrona county Thursday game times are at 3:00 and 5:30, Friday they play Green River also at 3:00 and 5:30 all four games will be on KWYO and 87.7 FM.

Saturday they play at noon and 1:30 against Rock Springs those games will be on 87.7 FM.

RAMS / EAGLES BASKETBALL - The Big Horn and Tongue River basketball teams will host the Winter classic tournament this week Thursday through Saturday.

SWIMMING - The Bronc swimmers will compete at an invitational in Gillette this weekend.

GENERALS / LADY GENERALS BASKETBALL - The Sheridan college basketball teams held their youth hoop camps over the weekend the Lady Generals hosted the girls Sunday, Lady Generals head coach Frank McCarthy says the turn out was tremendous and they had a great day.

The Generals and Lady Generals open conference games Wednesday at home against Gillette and McCarthy says it's a great way to start the conference season with a tough opponent.

And McCarthy feels the Lady Generals are in a good spot right now coming out of the Christmas break.

We will broadcast both games live Wednesday night on 87.7 FM ESPN radio game times are at 5:30 and 7:30.

UW BASKETBALL - The Wyoming Cowboys dropped their game Saturday at Nevada 71-68, the Cowgirls beat the Wolfpack 68-53.

This week the Pokes host Air Force Wednesday that game can be hear live on 14-10 KWYO pregame starts at 6:30 with the tip at 7:00

BRONCO FOOTBALL - The Denver Broncos beat the San Diego Chargers Sunday 27-20 to wrap up the division title. They are off this week before hosting a divisional playoff game in two weeks.
