BHS Athletes Crowned Champions

Athletes from Buffalo High School were crowned Champions in their sports this past weekend, and many others had strong performances at State or in preperation for the post season.

Bison Wrestler Jace Jensen was the State Champion at 171 pounds at the State Wrestling Tournament in Casper on Saturday.
Other top finishes for the Bison included Jonathan Land finishing second in the state at 112 pounds, and Matt Myrick taking third at 285.
The BHS Swimming and Diving Team finished second at State behind a very strong Lander team that took their 15th consecutive State Title.
Buffalo's Wilbur Holt was crowned the Champion in the 100 Backstroke.
The relay team of Josh Cohoon, Neil Medders, Kyle Todd and Kevin Kramer took first in the 200 Freestyle Relay; and the team of Pierrick Bultot, Medders, Cohoon and Holt finished first in the 400 Free Relay. Also, Buffalo Coach Ron Chapin was named the 3A Coach of the Year.
In basketball, the Bison boys finished with two wins this weekend, downing Glenrock 92-37 and Douglas 69-52.
The girls split their games, beating Glenrock 66-50 and losing to top-ranked Douglas 43-33.
Th ebasketball teams have wrapped up their regular season and will both move on to the Regional Tournament this week in Wheatland.
The boys will take the #2 seed into Regionals and will take on #7 Thermopolis Thursday.
The girls will have the #4 seed and will face the fifth seed Glenrock Lady Herders or Thermopolis Lady Bobcats Thursday in the first round of the Regional Tournament.
