Broncs Advance to State Basketball Semi Finals / Generals Eliminated From Region Nine Hoops

SHERIDAN BRONC HOOPS - The Sheridan Broncs advanced to the 4-A state basketball semi finals with a hard fought battle with Evanston the game stayed close the whole way with the Broncs pulling away with a big 4th quarter offensive serge to win the game 46-39.

The Broncs took a one point lead after one quarter but Evanston had a two point halftime lead and the Red Devils would take a 25-24 lead into the 4th quarter that's when the Bronc offense came alive Junior Aaron Woodward hit three huge three point baskets to get the Broncs rolling Senior Drew Boedecker put the game away hitting four free throws in the final minute to hold off Evanston.

Coy Steel led the Broncs with 14 points and Woodward had 11 tonight the will play a semi final match up with casper Kelly Walsh the game is scheduled to start at around 7:30 from the Casper events center.

4-A STATE HOOPS - The other boys semi final will have Gillette taking on Rock Springs on the girls side of the 4-A bracket one semi final will have Gillette taking on Natrona County and the other will have Cheyenne East against Laramie.

3-A HOOPS - In the 3-A girls bracket the Buffalo Lady Bison dropped their opener 53-43 against Mountain View they will play an elimination game this morning at 10:30 against Cody.

GENERALS - The Sheridan college Generals opened their Region nine tournament quarterfinal Thursday against LCCC and were eliminated 93-87.
