Buffalo's Esponda Named Player of the Year

Buffalo High School senior soccer player Kasey Esponda has been named the 2010/2011 Gatorade Wyoming Boys Soccer Player of the Year.
The announcement came Tuesday in a media release from Gatorade.
Esponda is the first soccer player from BHS to earn the honor.

The award, according to the release, recognizes outstanding athletic excellence, and high standards of academic achievement and exemplary character both on and off the field.
Esponda is now eligible for the Gatorade National Boys Soccer player of the Year Award, which will be announced in the near future.
Esponda, according to the release, has led the Bison to a 12-1-1 record, a number-one ranking and a slot in the 3A State Tournament next week. He had 19 goals and 13 assists this season. He was selected as Class 3A Underclass Player of the year his sophomore and junior years, and was selected as a First Team All-State player twice.
He has signed to play soccer at the University of Denver this fall.
