Changes Coming for Wyoming 4-A Athletics / High School Conference Basketball Opens / Cowboys and Cowgirls take on San Jose State Tonight

4-A ATHLETICS AND ACTIVITIES - We hear from Sheridan high school Activities Director Don Julian today on changes coming to 4-A athletics in Wyoming over the next two years with the addition of Thunder Basin high school in Gillette.

This fall when the new school year begins we'll see the schedules for the East 4-A schools change the most.

The biggest change will come during the 2018-19 school year when class 4-A will expand from 12 to 16 teams.

The Northeast district activities meeting will take place tomorrow in Gillette where officials are expected to approve those changes we'll hear more from Julian on the process tomorrow.

The Bronc football team will have five home games this fall they will play road games at both Gillette schools also at Laramie and Cheyenne Central.

Also changing in the fall will be the Big Horn Rams dropping into class 1-A for football that will renew the conference rivalry with Tongue River that game is scheduled as the 2017 regular season finale.

BRONC / LADY BRONC BASKETBALL - The Bronc and Lady Bronc basketball teams open conference play with the at Cheyenne South Friday and Laramie Saturday. We will broadcast all four games live on KWYO and 87.7 FM ESPN radio game times Friday will be 5:30 and 7:00 and Saturday at 11:30 and 1:00.

EAGLES / LADY EAGLES BASKETBALL - The Tongue River Eagles and Lady Eagles will open conference play with home games with Wright Friday.

RAMS / LADY RAMS BASKETBALL - The Big Horn Rams and Lady Rams play at Sundance Friday and host Tongue River Saturday.

SC BASKETBALL - The Sheridan college Generals and Lady Generals have road games at Miles City, Montana tonight and will be at home Saturday against Little Big Horn CC.

UW BASKETBALL - The Wyoming Cowboys play at San Jose state tonight you can hear that game live on KWYO starting at 7:30 the Cowgirls will play at 6:00 at home against San Jose live on 87.7 FM.

WRESTLING - The Bronc wrestlers have duals tomorrow night in Casper with Kelly Walsh and Natrona county.

SWIMMING / DIVING - The Bronc swimmers and divers will compete at Casper Kelly Walsh Saturday.

TRACK AND FIELD - The Sheridan high school indoor track teams will have their next meet Saturday in Gillette.

HOCKEY - The Sheridan Hawks hockey team plays road games this weekend at Pinedale, the Hawks next home dates will be February 3rd and 4th against Rock Springs.
