Lady Bison Second At Conference, Boast Many Champions

The Buffalo Lady Bison swim team finished second at the 3A East Conference Championships in Worland last weekend, but also had a number of Conference Champions crowned and some other great finishes in their last meet before State later this week.

Buffalo's Conference Champions were: the 200 medley relay team of Hailee Riddle, Nicole Thiele, Taylor Ballek, and Hannah Chapin;
Chapin in both the 50 and 100 free, where she set Conference records in both; Ballek in the 100 backstroke; Thiele in the 100 breaststroke, and Grace Meacham in diving.

Taylor Ballek finished third overall in Conference in the 100 butterfly;
Nicole Thiele third overall in the 200 IM; Jenna Elmlinger took second in diving; and Hailee Riddle took third in Conference in both the 200 and 500 freestyle.

Earning All-Conference honors were: Hannah Chapin, Grace Meacham, Taylor Ballek, Hailee Riddle, Nicole Thiele, and Jenna Elmlinger.

Other notable finishes for the Lady Bison were: Hailee Riddle, third in the 200 and 500 free; Alescea Webber seventh in the 200 free and 100 backstroke (she was the consolation champion in both events);Jennifer Seeman, eighth in the 100 backstroke and ninth in the 100 free; Annie Stratton, 10th in the 100 butterfly and 200 IM; Courtney Mauck, 10th in the 500 free; Emmaline Velasquez, 11th in the 500 free; Bethany Friese, 11th in the 200 IM; and Tabitha Cohoon, 12th in the 100 breast stroke.

Third place went to the 400 free relay team of Ballek, Thiele, Riddle, and Chapin; and the 200 free relay team of Mauck, Seeman, Webber, and Meacham.

The girls will be at the 3A State Finals Thursday and Friday in Gillette.
