Lusk Ground Game Too Much for Eagles

The Tongue River Eagles football team hosted Lusk Friday afternoon in Dayton. The Eagles fell behind Lusk early in the game as the Tigers scored two first quarter touchdowns to jump out to a 13-0 lead. The momentum shifted in the second quarter, as Tongue River scored to cut the lead to 13-7 and were driving late in the first half when a fumble ended the drive. Lusk, as they did all afternoon, capitalized on the Eagles mistake and scored just before the half to extend their lead to 21-7.

Lusk scored three touchdowns in the third quarter and were never threatened by the Eagles in the second half. Eagles Head Coach John Scott said that despite the 49-7 score, they had some chances, particularly in the first half.

Coach Scott says that the team will keep fighting despite their opponent.

The Eagles are now 2-2 on the season will travel to play the Casper Kelly Wash JV's next Saturday afternoon at Kelly Walsh High School.
