NEW MEXICO BOWL - The Wyoming Cowboys came back in the 4th quarter and beat Fresno State in the New Mexico Bowl 35-28 in double overtime.

Dave Christensen was named the Cowboys' Head coach about a year ago, and promised a new attitude in the Wyoming football program. Christensen says Saturday was a great day for the Cowboys and the people of Wyoming.

After falling behind by 11, the team stayed calm in the second half andgot the job done.

I'ts the second straight Bowl win for the Cowboys; they beat UCLA in the 2004 Las Vegas Bowl. The Pokes finish this season with a record of 7-6.

LADY BRONC BASKETBALL - The Lady Broncs went 2-1 at the “Flaming Gorge Classic” in Green River. They lost the opening game last Thursday against Rock Springs 70-60, then came back with blow out victories over Kemmerer and Jackson. They finish their pre-season schedule with a record of 6-1.

BRONC BASKETBALL - The Broncs also went 2-1 at the “Classic” -- they opened with victories over Jackson and Rock Springs, then gave up a late lead and lost Saturday morning against Salmon, Idaho 60-54. The Broncs stand at 5-2 on the season. Both teams are off until Thursday, January 7th.

BIG HORN BASKETBALL - The Big Horn Lady Rams went 3-0 with wins over Wyoming Indian, Big Piney and Wind River over the weekend, while the Rams beat Big Piney and lost to Wyoming Indian and Wind River.

TONGUE RIVER BASKETBALL - The Lady Eagles picked up victories over Big Piney and Wind River, then lost against Wyoming Indian. The Eagles had the same record as the Big Horn Rams, beating Big Piney and taking losses against Wyoming Indian and Wind River. All four teams are off until the first weekend in January.

BRONC WRESTLING - The Broncs went 3-0 on the first day of the Worland dual tournament. On Saturday, they lost in the semi-finals against Douglas, then lost in the consolation final to Riverton to finish 4th.

UW BASKETBALL - The Wyoming basketball Cowboys beat South Dakota last night 84-76 to go to 6-5 overall. Four players scored in double figures, led by Afam Muojeke with 19 points.

Following the game in Ames, Iowa Wednesday, the Cowboys play four straight at home, including their Mountain West Conference opener January 6th against Colorado State.

DENVER BRONCO FOOTBALL - The Oakland Raiders scored in the final minute to beat the Denver Broncos 20 -19 at Mile High yesterday. This week the Broncos are on the road at Philadelphia Sunday afternoon.
