BRONC FOOTBALL - The Sheridan Broncs beat #1 Green River 34-21 Friday night. The Broncs led 27-0 at halftime and stretched the lead to 34-7 by the end of the 3rd quarter. One of the big keys to the win was the play of the offensive line. The Broncs are now 2-1 on the season, and will be on the road this week as they travel to play at Rock Springs.

TR FOOTBALL - The Tongue River Eagles lost at Glenrock Friday night. The Herders led 32-6 at halftime, and went on to to win 45-26. Glenrock won the 3-A State Title last year. Tongue River head coach Chuck Walters says they ran into a pretty good team. The 0-2 Eagles have their Homecoming game Friday afternoon hosting Moorcroft; you can hear it live on AM 1410 KWYO. Kick-off is scheduled for 2 o'clock; it will be the first game on their new field.

NSI - The NSI Wolves lost at Pine Bluffs 42-6 to fall to 0-2. The Wolves will play at home this week against Upton Saturday.

BIG HORN FOOTBALL - The Big Horn Rams traveled to Burns Friday and avenged last year's State Title game loss to Burns by beating the Broncs 24-19. That evens their record at 1-1, and more importantly 1-0 in Conference play. The Rams play at home Friday night against Wright; the game will be played at Sheridan High School with kick-off at 7 o'clock.

UW - The Wyoming Cowboys played #2 Texas Saturday. The Pokes held a brief 10-6 lead, but the Longhorns got a late touchdown in the first half to take a 13-10 lead at halftime. That was as close as it would be for the Cowboys; in all Texas scored five straight touchdowns to win the game 41-10. This Saturday, the Pokes play on the road for the first time when they travel to Boulder, Colorado to play CU.

NFL - The Denver Broncos played at Cincinnati to open the NFL regular season yesterday and got a miracle finish: down 7-6 with less than :30 seconds to play, Brandon Stokley caught a tipped pass and went 87 yards for a touchdown with 11 seconds to play to give the Broncos a 12-7 win. This Sunday they play at home against Cleveland.

SHS VOLLEYBALL - The Sheridan Lady Bronc volleyball team dropped both weekend matches with Laramie and Casper Kelly Walsh. The Plainsmen beat the Lady Broncs in four games Friday nigh,t and the Trojans got the Lady Broncs in four Saturday. This week the Lady Broncs head to Cheyenne for Conference matches with Central and East.

BH / TR VOLLEYBALL - The Big Horn and Tongue River volleyball teams played in the Big Horn Invitational. The Lady Rams had a great weekend taking the overall championship, beating Burlington in the title match 21-18 and 21-17.

The Lady Eagles beat Riverside and Rocky Mountain and lost to Burlington in pool play, and got knocked out in the bracket play semi-finals by Burlington. This week, the Lady Rams host Wright Friday night and the Lady Eagles host Moorcroft Friday evening.

CROSS-COUNTRY - The Sheridan Lady Bronc cross-country runners finished 2nd at the Gillette Invitational Friday. Lady Bronc teammates Dana Morin and Lela Carpenter continue to dominate, finishing 1st and 2nd.

The Broncs finished 4th; Dylan Morin placed 3rd overall and Seth Ulvestad was 8th. Sheridan High School will host the Michelle Ludwig Sheridan Invitational Saturday.

GOLF - The Bronc varsity golfers played at an invitational meet in Tennessee over the weekend; the rest of the team played in Buffalo. The Broncs were 5th overall; the Lady Broncs were 3rd. Top finisher for the Lady Broncs was Ashley Stevenson -- she was 9th -- while Tongue River's Aspen Rawlings finished 4th.

SWIMMING AND DIVING - The Lady Bronc swimmers and divers had the weekend off after competing in Gillette last Thursday. Tomorrow they compete at home for the first time hosting a dual with Buffalo.
