Northeast District High School Meetings Today / Cowgirls Hammer San Jose / Pokes win on the road

CLASS 4-A ATHLETICS - We hear more today from Sheridan high school Activities Director Don Julian today on changes coming to 4-A athletics in Wyoming over the next two years.

This fall when the new school year begins we'll see the schedules for the 4-A schools change in football with the addition of Thunder Basin high school in Gillette.

In the 2018-19 school year 4-A is looking to expand to 16 teams Julian came up with the plan that he's been working on for a year that will divide those 16 teams into four quadrants that will help with travel those sports will include basketball, volleyball and track.

The Northeast district activities meeting takes place today in Gillette where officials are expected to approve those changes.

Julian says since the fall his plan has been gathering momentum and he feels confident that the plan has a good chance at going into effect when the 2018 school year begins.

BRONC / LADY BRONC BASKETBALL - The Bronc and Lady Bronc basketball teams open conference play with the at Cheyenne South tomorrow and Laramie Saturday.

We will broadcast all four games live on KWYO and 87.7 FM ESPN radio game times Friday will be 5:30 and 7:00 and Saturday at 11:30 and 1:00.

EAGLES BASKETBALL - The Tongue River Eagles and Lady Eagles will open conference play with home games with Wright tomorrow.

RAMS BASKETBALL - The Big Horn Rams and Lady Rams play at Sundance tomorrow and host Tongue River Saturday.

SC BASKETBALL - The Sheridan college Generals and Lady Generals will be at home Saturday against Little Big Horn CC games times are set for 3:00 and 5:00.

COWBOY BASKETBALL - The Wyoming Cowboys won at San Jose state last night 80-70 they are 13-6 overall ans 3-3 in the Mountain West they play at New Mexico Saturday you can hear that game live on KWYO starting at 5:30

COWGIRL BASKETBALL - The Cowgirls drilled San Jose state 89-60 Head coach Joe Legerski says they got another outstanding team effort. Former Lady Bronc Hailey Ligocki had 10 points and 4 assists in the victory.

The Cowgirls are 6-0 in league play and 14-3 overall they will host New Mexico Saturday afternoon.

WRESTLING - The Bronc wrestlers have duals tonight in Casper with Kelly Walsh and Natrona county.

SWIMMING / DIVING - The Bronc swimmers and divers will compete at Casper Kelly Walsh Saturday.

TRACK AND FIELD - The Sheridan high school indoor track teams will have their next meet Saturday in Gillette.

HOCKEY - The Sheridan Hawks hockey team plays road games this weekend at Pinedale, the Hawks next home dates will be February 3rd and 4th against Rock Springs.
