Kayla Woodward named All Mountain West

SPRING SPORTS - The 2012 high school spring sports season opened yesterday, the Bronc and Lady Bronc soccer season teams hit the field running on a beautiful afternoon coaches Tom Racette and Kevin Riser.

Lady Bronc Head coach Tom Racette says they have several players not in practice this week because of their commitment to the Lady Bronc basketball team as they get ready for their state tournament.

Racette says those girls will fit right into the soccer routine when they get back next week.

And he says they will be doing a lot of refreshing on the practice field.

The Broncs enter the spring as the defending state champs and riser says that on everyone's mind.

The first matches of the spring will be March 16th with the Broncs at Riverton, the Lady Broncs will host the Wolverines.

TRACK AND FIELD - The first meet of the track season for the Broncs and Lady Broncs will be Saturday, March 17th at the Natrona county Earlybird meet.

GOLF - The Bronc and Lady Bronc golfers will open their spring season with their first practice scheduled for March 26th.

TROOPERS / JETS BASEBALL - Sheridan American Legion baseball will hold their preseason player / parent meeting Wednesday, March 21st at 6:00 at Sheridan high school. All Sheridan Jets and Trooper players and their parents are asked to attend.

STATE 4-A HOOPS - The Sheridan Lady Broncs open up the state basketball tournament Thursday at 4:30 against Evanston. we will have the game for you live on 14-10 KWYO and 95.9 FM.

The Broncs will open the state tournament Thursday night at 7:30 against Casper Kelly Walsh. the game will be broadcast live on 14-10 KWYO.

Because the women's region nine tournament opens in Casper this week the 3-A tournament has to open Wednesday the 4-A bracket will not be effected.

They will be using the Kelly Walsh high school gym for some consolation bracket games Friday and Saturday.

MWC TOURNAMENT - The Mountain West conference basketball tournament opens for the Wyoming Cowgirls tomorrow afternoon in Las Vegas.

WYOMING COWGIRLS - The Cowgirls open with TCU we will have the game live for broadcast time is at 3:00 on 14-10 KWYO and 95.9 FM.

KAYLA WOODWARD - Sheridan's Kayla Woodward was named All-Mountain West Monday, Woodward was named to the third team which includes only two freshmen in the top 15 players in the league.

COWBOY BASKETBALL - The Cowboys open tournament play Thursday night against UNLV the broadcast opens at 9:00 live on 95.9 FM.
