Troopers Drill Gillette at State Baseball / Rockies win at Baltimore / Bronc Football Camp Opens August 8th

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers continue to play well at the Double "AA" state American Legion baseball tournament.

The Troops beat Gillette 16-4 last night blowing the game open scoring 8 runs in the third inning.

They will play in the winners bracket semi final tonight against Cheyenne, Post 6 dominated Jackson winning that game 17-2.

In loser out games Wednesday Evanston eliminated Laramie 7-2 and Rock Springs beat Casper 8-6.

The schedule of games today has Evanston facing Gillette then Rock Springs plays Jackson, the winners will play at 4:00 then the Troopers and Post 6 will play in the winner's bracket semi final at 7:00. The state championship game is set for tomorrow night.

VOLLEYBALL CAMP - The Sheridan college Lady Generals volleyball team will host their camp for high school players today the camp will run in two sessions at 10:30 and 1:30 they will take walk up registration before the first session opens..

FALL SPORTS - The Sheridan Bronc football team will open two a day practices August 8th, the rest of the states football teams and the rest of the fall sports all begin practice August 15th all fall sports athletes from junior high to high school need to get sports physicals completed before they will be allowed to practice with their teams.

The Broncs will start with their leadership mountain camp next week and the annual player / parent meeting with the coaches will also be held next weekend.

The Broncs come into the 2016 season as the defending 4-A state champs and Head coach Don Julian says as always expectations will be high for this new group of Bronc varsity players.
