Troopers eliminated from the state tournament / Summer SLam volleyball next weekend / Bronc football opens fall camp August 10th

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers were eliminated from the state "AA" American Legion baseball tournament Thursday in a 7-2 loss against Cody.

Cody led most of the way the troopers were are to draw the score to 4-2 in the 7th inning but Cody pushed three runs across in the 8th to finish off the Troops, after the game Head coach Ben Phillips said the Troopers made a great run this week.

And he said going into last night's game they knew they were in for a battle with Cody. And moving ahead the Troopers have a young squad all but one player will be back and Phillips says with a good off season the Troops look to be tough in 2016.

In other action yesterday last night in the winners bracket semi final Cheyenne beat Gillette 6-5, with that win Cheyenne heads into tonight's title game.

Gillette will play Cody at 1:00 today for the right to take on Post 6 for the title tonight, the championship game is scheduled for 6:00

SUMMER SLAM VOLLEYBALL - The annual Weston Johnson memorial summer slam volleyball tournament will be played outdoors at the YMCA August 8th the they have divisions for all age groups, all funds raised go to the Weston Johnson foundation which helps local people and families battling cancer.

FOOTBALL - The Sheridan Bronc football open two a days opening August 10th, the Big Horn Rams and Tongue River Eagles open on August 17th.
