Troopers open five game road swing / Rockies fall at Oakland

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers head to Cheyenne for a tournament play begins this afternoon with the host team, they play a team from Texas tomorrow and two with teams from Denver Saturday the tournament closes out Sunday

Head coach Ben Phillips says the big focus this week was at the plate trying to get more aggressive and find find some power.

Pitching will be a big key in all five games in Cheyenne Phillips says lack of experience has hurt them at times this season.

The Troops play at home Monday when they host a double header with Cody the first game will start at 5:00. Phillips says only playing one game at home this summer has been tough on the players but they have held up well playing nearly all of the schedule away from Thorne-Rider stadium.

ROCKIES BASEBALL - The Colorado Rockies lost Oakland Wednesday night 4-1, they open a series at Arizona tonight. you can hear the game live on 87.7 FM ESPN radio broadcast time is 7:05.

WYO RODEO - Sheridan WYO rodeo week begins Monday. Events at the fairgrounds start Tuesday morning at 7:00 with three rounds of steer roping. The first of four performances starts Wednesday night at 7:00.

SHS BOOSTER CLUB GOLF - The Sheridan high school booster club will host their fund raising golf tournament next Sunday to close out rodeo week.
