HS GOLF - The Sheridan Bronc varsity golfers finished up the 2-day McDonalds Invitational tournament in Kingsport, Tennessee yesterday. As a team, the Broncs finished 13th overall. Yesterday, Kamrin Allen led the way in the final round with a score of 78; Cameron Lindell shot 79; Taylor Speigelberg shot 82; Toby Nicholas 83 and Taylor Reed 84.

Head coach Larry Martoglio says it was a great honor to get an invitation to this tournament. The Broncs now come back to Sheridan and prepare to close out the fall golf season. They play at the Casper Invitational this weekend, and then go on to the State Tournament in Cheyenne. The Broncs are the defending State Champs.

The Tongue River and Big Horn golfers will play at a tournament in Lusk this weekend, and then go on to their State Tournament in Hulett September 25th and 26th.

HS VOLLEYBALL - The Big Horn Lady Rams are the 2-time defending Class 2-A State Volleyball Champs, and they are off to a great start this season, including winning the championship at their own tournament this past Saturday. They play their Homecoming match Friday against Wright.

The Sheridan Lady Bronc volleyball team will be on the road this weekend for conference games in Cheyenne. They play Central Friday and East Saturday.

The Tongue River Lady Eagles are putting together a team, and expect to do well when the post-season comes around in October. The Lady Eagles play their Homecoming match Friday against Moorcroft.

SC VOLLEYBALL - The Sheridan College Lady Generals will play a non-league game at Rocky Mountain College tonight before coming home to play Casper College Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Taking a look ahead at the schedule, following the Casper match they play six dates on the road, then will close out the regular season in October with six straight home matches between the 20th and 31st.

SWIMMING AND DIVING - The Lady Broncs will compete at home for the first time this season; this afternoon they dual Buffalo at the Junior High pool beginning at 4 o'clock.

SHS CROSS COUNTRY - The Bronc and Lady Bronc cross-country teams and the rest of their Wyoming competition will get a preview look at the course for the 4-A North Regional Meet and State Championships Saturday. The Broncs and Lady Broncs host the annual “Michelle Ludwig” Sheridan Invitational on the grounds of the VA; running begins at 11 o'clock.

SHS TENNIS - The Sheridan High School tennis teams will play their final home matches of the season Friday and Saturday. The Broncs and Lady Broncs host matches with Powell Friday at 4 o'clock and Saturday they host Cody; matches begin at 10 am.

HS FOOTBALL - In local football action, this week Big Horn and Tongue River have their Homecoming games Friday, while the Sheridan Broncs hit the road to Rock Springs. NSI plays at home Saturday.

The Eagles are 0-2 as they prepare to play Moorcroft Friday afternoon. It will be the first game on the new field; we will broadcast the game live on AM 1410 KWYO. Ron Richter will have the play-by-play. The First Federal Pre-game Show starts at 1:45, with kickoff set for 2 o'clock.

The Rams evened their record at 1-1 by winning at Burns last week. The Rams are now 1-0 in Conference play, and will host Wright Friday. The game will be played at Homer Scott Stadium -- kickoff Friday night is at 7 o'clock.

The Broncs will look to keep their surge going this week when they take to the road Friday. They've won two straight, including last Friday's convincing win over previous #1 Green River. They play at Rock Springs Friday. It will be the Broncs' first regular season game in Rock Springs in more than 20 years. We will broadcast the game live for you on AM 1410 KWYO: the First Federal Savings Bank Pre-game Show will begin the broadcast at 6:30, with kickoff set for 7 o'clock.

The NSI Wolves are looking for their first win of the season after starting with losses to Rocky Mountain and Pine Bluffs. The Wolves will play at home Saturday night against Upton; kickoff is scheduled for 7 o'clock.

UW - The Wyoming Cowboys will play their second straight game against a Big 12 opponent this week. They head out on the road for the first time to play in Boulder, Colorado Saturday at CU. You'll be able to hear the game live on KWYO -- Cowboy pre-game will start at 12:30 with kickoff at 1:30.

NFL - The Denver Broncos play at Invesco field at Mile High Stadium Sunday when the Broncos host the Cleveland Browns. Denver beat Cincinnati 12-7 last Sunday, while the Browns lost at home to Minnesota. The game will be broadcast on KWYO; pre-game is at 1 o'clock, with kickoff at 2:15.

LOCAL GOLF - The 2nd Annual Matthew Perkins Memorial Golf Tournament will be played Saturday at Kendrick Golf Course. The format is a 2-person best ball. Get your teams together and stop by Kendrick, or call 674-8148 to enter. It's a 9 o'clock shotgun start. The fee is $60 per player, and that includes the golf, cart, lunch and pin prizes. Mulligan cards will be available for purchase as well. Proceeds go to the Matthew Perkins Memorial scholarship Fund.

SHERIDAN COLLEGE - The Sheridan College Athletic Department will hold their 2nd Annual Fall Sports Kick-off BBQ next Tuesday at 5:30 at the Hoffman Dome. The BBQ is free for all Generals' and Lady Generals' fans, and it's a great chance to come out and meet all the players and coaches from the volleyball and basketball programs. Again it's free and will start at 5:30 next Tuesday at the Hoffman Dome at Sheridan College.
