Cowboy Basketball Coach Larry Shyatt

COWBOY JOE CLUB - We have more today from Monday's Wyoming Cowboy Joe club visit to Sheridan as we hear from Cowboy basketball coach Larry Shyatt and more from Athletics Director Tom Burman.

The Cowboy basketball team more than doubled their win total this past season as Larry Shyatt returned to the university to take over the Men's basketball program.

In 2009 ans 2010 the Pokes won a total of 20 games combined Shyatt led them to 21 victories this past season and got them into the college basketball invitation tournament.

Shyatt gave the credit to the senior class for the dramatic turn around. And he says they have a lot to do to get the next addition of the Cowboys ready to go for the 2012-13 season.

Over the last two season the Mountain West Conference has been gutted with four of the league's top schools leaving for different conferences or in BYU's case going independent. BYU and UTAH left first followed by TCU and Boise state although the Broncos are still in the league this fall.

SOCCER - The Bronc and Lady Bronc soccer teams both have received the number one rankings in the latest Wyoming 4-A soccer polls both teams lead the conference race with three regular season matches to play.

They play Cheyenne Central and East this week and will finish up at home next week with Gillette.

The Broncs are at home this week varsity game times are 6:00 Friday against Cheyenne Central and noon Saturday vs Cheyenne East the Lady Broncs play in Cheyenne.

TRACK AND FIELD - The Wyoming track and field classic will be held in Casper Friday. The competitors with the best running times and best field events in the state this spring from all classes are invited to this meet.

Saturday the Broncs and Lady Broncs are scheduled to compete at a big invitational in Casper.

GOLF - The Bronc and Lady Bronc golfers have two tournaments this week Friday in Powell and in Buffalo Saturday.

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers have rescheduled their canceled date with Casper. The original date was May 6th that will now be played Friday night May 11th at Thorne-Rider stadium, it will be one nine inning game.

The home opening celebration will now be held on Sunday, May 13th when the Troops play a double header with Powell.

That will also be our first live broadcast of Trooper baseball games will be at 1:00 and 3:00 we will broadcast game one live on 14-10 KWYO.

ROCKIES BASEBALL - The Colorado Rockies Lost in Pittsburgh last night 5-4 , they a double header today you can hear the first game live starting at 10:35 on Sports / Talk 87.7 FM.
