SHS CROSS-COUNTRY - Sheridan Lady Bronc runner Dana Morin won the individual Wyoming Class 4-A Cross-Country State Championship last month. This past weekend, she kept the winning momentum rolling with a 5th place finish at the “Nike” Cross-Country Regional in Boise, Idaho.

With that Top 5 finish, Morin qualified for the National Cross-Country Championships set for December 5th in Portland, Oregon. It's the first time ever that a runner from Sheridan High School has qualified for the national event.

Morin has won several races during her running career for the Lady Broncs, including the State Championship in October, but she says the regional race last weekend featured some of the top runners from the western United States and was really competitive.

Morin got out to a fast start; at what point in the race did she feel she was doing well?

In two weeks she will head to the “Nike” National race, which will have the best runners from the United States competing. So what kind of training will she be going through to prepare?

Sheridan High School coach Art Baures says Morin went into the regional race expecting to do well and running with confidence. He says her performance was outstanding and it's a great honor just to qualify for the Regional.

Again Morin will run in the “Nike” National Cross-Country Championships in Portland December 5th, where the best high school runners in the US will find out who is the best in the country.
