GENERALS BASKETBALL - The Sheridan College Generals open the new basketball season with a road game Sunday in North Dakota. Over the last month, the team has been practicing, and they've played several scrimmage games against a variety of opponents. Head coach Steve Smiley.

Smiley begins his second season with the Generals and says with a good group of returning sophomores, team chemistry has them off to a good start. They open the season playing at Williston, North Dakota Sunday, which Smiley says is a great opener.

LADY GENERALS BASKETBALL - The Lady Generals will open their season next week, hosting a tournament at the Hoffman Dome. The defending Region Nine Champs return three starters from last year's Championship team, and head coach Frank McCarthy says they added some good new talent to this year's squad. And based on a month of practice, McCarthy says the Lady Generals look to have another good season.

Next Friday and Saturday they host a tournament and fans will get a real treat as three great teams come into the Dometo play.

RAMS FOOTBALL PLAYOFFS - The Big Horn Rams finished up the regular season with a record of 5-3, and in the last Wyoming power poll, the Rams re-enter the rankings at #5. They open the play-offs at Greybull Friday night; we will broadcast the game for you live on our sister station 95.9 FM. Ron Richter will have the play-by-play -- the broadcast will open with the First Federal Pre-game Show at 6:45.

To add to the game, a group of Greybull boosters is hosting a free tailgate party for all fans before the game, serving burgers and more at the north end of the field. They want to invite all Big Horn supporters to take part in the Pre-game festivities.

BRONC FOOTBALL PLAYOFFS - Pre-sale tickets for the Sheridan Bronc play-off game with Natrona County are on sale at the school -- tickets can be purchased in the office. Prices are set by the Wyoming High School Activities Association. Cost is $4 for adults and $2 for students and children.

We will broadcast the game on AM 1410 KWYO; it's an early start with the First Federal Pre-game Show beginning the broadcast at 5:30 and kick-off at 6 o'clock. A.C.T. 1st-round 4-A match-ups Friday include second-seed Cheyenne Central hosting Laramie; third-seed Gillette hosting Rock Springs; and fourth-seed Green River hosting Casper Kelly Walsh. The survivors this week will play semi-final games next Saturday.

UW FOOTBALL - The Wyoming Cowboys play at Utah Saturday night. You can hear the game on AM 1410 KWYO. The Cowboy Pre-game Show will start at 5 o'clock, with kick-off at 6 o'clock.

NFL - The Denver Broncos play at Baltimore Sunday -- broadcast time is at 10 am, with kick-off set for 11 on AM 1410 KWYO.

STATE VOLLEYBALL / SWIMMING - The high school volleyball and swimming & diving seasons end this weekend. The Sheridan Lady Broncs will be at the State Swimming & Diving Championships in Gillette Friday, and the Big Horn Lady Rams are back at the State Volleyball Tournament to defend titles from 2007 and 2008. They open with Riverside tomorrow night at 7:30.

WORLD SERIES- The fall classic begins tonight with Game 1 in New York as the Yankees host Philadelphia. The first pitch will be tossed out at 5:57.
Game 2 is scheduled for tomorrow night at the same start time in the Bronx.
