Weekend basketball wrap up / Cowgirls open the MWC tournament at 2:30 against SDSU / Spring sports season starts today

STATE 2-A BASKETBALL - The Big Horn Rams finished 4th in the 2-A state basketball tournament Saturday dropping the third place game against Greybull after that game Head coach Ryan Alley.

In all the Rams had a very good weekend getting into the semi finals with an opening round victory over Wyoming Indian before falling in the semi finals to Wind River the Rams played tough in all three games.

They will be right back in the mix next season they lose only one senior and one starter that's Max Lube and Alley says they should be highly motivated to make a run at a state title in 2017.

Finally today Alley says all the players played tough and he was proud of their effort.

The Tongue River Eagles had a tough draw and were eliminated in two games they dropped the opener to Wind River and were knocked out by Wyoming Indian.

LADY BRONC BASKETBALL - The Sheridan Lady Broncs will have a two seed going into the 4-A state tournament which opens Thursday at Casper college.

The Lady Broncs beat Laramie to open their regional tournament then hammered Cheyenne East in the semi finals and lost to Gillette in the title game 62-59. They open the state tournament against Evanston Thursday morning at 9:00 we will have it live for you on KWYO and 87.7 FM.

UW BASKETBALL - The Wyoming Cowboys and Cowgirls open the Mountain West conference tournament in Las Vegas this week.

The Cowgirls open the first round this afternoon against San Diego state you can hear it live on KWYO and 87.7 FM Cowgirl pregame starts at 2:30 with tip off at 3:00.

The Pokes open the mens' bracket Wednesday afternoon.

TRACK AND FIELD - The Sheridan Lady Bronc indoor track team finished 4th at the indoor state meet over the weekend the Broncs were 7th.

The spring sports season opens today with outdoor track and field practice.

BRONC / LADY BRONC SOCCER - The Bronc and Lady Bronc soccer teams open spring drills a week from today.
