Weekend local sports wrap up

BRONC / LADY BRONC BASKETBALL - The Sheridan high school basketball teams both dropped games against Billings West Friday night, the Lady Broncs lost in Billings 54-42 while the Broncs fell at home 48-36.

The Broncs played much better defense in the game holding a very good west team to 48 points, Broncs Head coach Gale Smith.

Now they get ready to open conference play at Laramie Friday.

And Smith says with the start of conference play the season is wide open right now for all the teams in the league including the Broncs. They play at Laramie Friday and Cheyenne South Saturday.

BIG HORN - The Rams swept all three games with Riverside, Rocky Mountain and Greybull the Lady Rams beat Riverside and Rocky and lost to Greybull.

TONGUE RIVER - The Eagles split their games losing to Greybull and beating Riverside the Lady Eagles swept both games.

COWBOYS - The Wyoming Cowboys won at New Mexico 70-68, Josh Adams lit up the Lobos for 38 points in the victory. The Pokes are at home Wednesday night against Nevada, broadcast time is 6:30 on KWYO.

COWGIRLS - The Cowgirls beat New Mexico 66-48 they play at Mevada Wednesday night you can hear it live on 87.7 FM broadcast time is 7:00.

WRESTLING - The Bronc wrestlers finished 7th at the Cowboy invitational in Miles City, Montana as 36 teams competed in the event.

HOCKEY - The Sheridan Hawks hockey team are back in action this weekend when they host games with Rock Springs.

BRONCO FOOTBALL - The Denver Broncos beat the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday 23-17 and will host the New England Patriots in the AFC title game Sunday.
