Weekend Local Sports Wrap up

BRONC / LADY BRONC BASKETBALL - The Lady Bronc basketball team earned a conference split over the weekend they lost against Laramie Friday but came back with a win Saturday over Cheyenne South to break a six game losing streak Head coach Jessica Pickett.

The Broncs swept their weekend games they dominated Laramie Friday and got by Cheyenne South Saturday Head coach Jeff Martini says the Broncs worked hard for the win against the Bison.

By winning both games the broncs will finish in the top two in conference play which means a first round bye at the regional tournament in two weeks and most important that automatic bid into the state tournament.

The Broncs and Lady Broncs close out the regular season at home Friday night against Gillette the Broncs beat the Camels in overtime three weeks ago and Martini says it should be a great game Friday night.

BH BASKETBALL - The Big Horn basketball teams swept all four weekend games with Upton and Moorcroft both teams have the top seeds heading into the East regional tournament in Gillette the Rams will play Southeast in the first round Thursday night the Lady Rams open with Burns Thursday night.

TR BASKETBALL - The Tongue River Lady Eagles play at Moorcroft tonight at 6:00 the winner gets into the regional tournament and will play Pine Bluffs the loser's season will end.

The Eagles split beating Sundance Friday and losing to Upton Saturday they will open the regional tournament Thursday morning at 9:00 against Pine Bluffs.

SC BASKETBALL - The Sheridan college basketball teams host Western Wyoming Wednesday night during both games Sheridan college in hold induction ceremonies for the Generals and Lady Generals Athletic Hall of Fame teams and players for the 1960's and 70's will be honored game times Wednesday will be 5:30 and 7:30

COWBOYS BASKETBALL - The Wyoming Cowboys lost at Boise state Saturday they will play their next game Saturday at home against New Mexico.

COWGIRLS BASKETBALL - The Wyoming Cowgirls lost at home against Boise state they play at New Mexico Saturday.

WRESTLING - The Bronc wrestlers finished 3rd in the 4-A East regional tournament in Cheyenne the state wrestling championships start Friday at the Casper Events Center.

INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD - The Sheridan high school indoor track teams competed at the Simplot games three athletes from Sheridan high school placed well in their events for the Lady Broncs Pippin Robison was 17th in the 800 meters and Emily Hooge was 23rd in the pole vault for the Broncs Max Myers finished 23rd in the shot put the Broncs and Lady Broncs compete in Gillette Thursday.

SWIMMING / DIVING - The Bronc swimmers and divers will open the state championships in Gillette Thursday.
