Weekend Local Sports Wrap up

STATE CROSS COUNTRY - The Wyoming state cross country championships wrap up the season Saturday the Broncs finished 7th the Lady Broncs were 6th in the 2-A the Big Horn Rams were 5th the Tongue River Eagles were 6th and for the Eagles Cooper Vollmer made all-state with a 10th place finish, the Tongue River Lady Eagles finished 6th.

Sheridan Head coach Art Bauers says they did have mixed results Saturday but over all both teams and a pretty good meet as he talks about the Broncs effort.

Brian Gonda had a great race Saturday finishing ninth and making the all-state list in his final race.

And for the Lady Broncs much like the Broncs, mixed results but a pretty good day.

SWIMMING / DIVING - The Lady Bronc swimmers and divers finished 2nd at their conference meet in Laramie, they have this week off and a week from Friday will compete at their state meet in Gillette.

BRONC FOOTBALL - The Broncs beat Cheyenne East 38-14 to end their first unbeaten regular season under Head coach Don Julian they earn the number one overall playoff seed and Julian says it was a great win and accomplishment by the entire team.

They got off to a great start when Kyle Custis picked of a pass in the game's first minute and took it back for a touchdown and Julian says the play was no surprise to the Broncs.

The Broncs open the playoffs at home Friday night against Cheyenne Central the game will kickoff at 6:00,

RAMS / EAGLES FOOTBALL - The Big Horn Rams beat the Tongue River Eagles 52-13 to end the regular season, Rams Head coach Micheal McGuire.

Big Horn opens the playoffs Friday night at home against Wind River kickoff is set for 6:00 the game can be hear live on Sports Talk 87.7 FM.

COWBOY FOOTBALL - The Wyoming Cowboys lost at Boise state 24-14 the Pokes will play at home Saturday night against New Mexico.

BRONCO FOOTBALL - The Denver Broncos were shut out by the LA Chargers 21-0 was the final. Next up for the Broncos is a Monday night game at Kansas City next week.
