Weekend Local Sports Wrap up

SHERIDAN COLLEGE BASKETBALL - The 43rd annual Sheridan Lions club basketball classic is in the books as both Sheridan college teams swept victories over the weekend.

The Lady Generals are 3-5 overall after beating Rocky Mountain college and Williston state, Head coach Ryan Davis says the Lady Generals put together a great victory Saturday in the 94-46 blowout of Williston.

And getting two good wins in a row will help with the players confidence as they step up in competition at Western Nebraska.

They play at Western Nebraska Wednesday night then have this coming weekend off.

The Generals are 9-1 after sweeping three game home games last week Head coach Matt Hammer.

They've won six in a row and Hammer says his young squad is just scratching the surface of how good they can be.

They will play their next four on the road including two at a tournament at Northwest college in Powell this weekend.

COWBOY BASKETBALL - The Wyoming basketball Cowboys beat New Mexico Highlands Sunday 83-70 they are now 5-1 on the season, they play at Denver University Wednesday night.

COWBOY FOOTBALL - The Wyoming football Cowboys lost at San Jose state Saturday 20-17 for the second straight game without injured Quarterback Josh Allen, now they play the waiting game to see which bowl game they will be invited too, bowl invites come out this week.

BRONCO FOOTBALL - The Denver Broncos lost at Oakland 21-14 Sunday for their 7th straight loss they play at the Miami Dolphins Sunday.

HAWKS HOCKEY - The Sheridan Hawks hockey team will play their next home games Saturday and Sunday against Laramie. Game times will be at 6:30 in the Saturday night and Sunday morning the at 8:00.

WINTER SPORTS SEASON - The 2017 high school winter sports season starts today with practice beginning for basketball, wrestling and boys swimming.
