Weekend Local Sports Wrap up

BRONC / LADY BRONC BASKETBALL - The Sheridan high school basketball teams will resume the season January 4th,5th and 6th at a tournament in Cheyenne their opponents will be Rock Springs, Casper Kelly Walsh and Green River.

RAMS / EAGLES BASKETBALL - The Big Horn and Tongue River basketball teams will open 2018 hosting the 2-A North / South tournament it's three days January 4th, 5th and 6th both schools will host.

SC BASKETBALL - The Sheridan college basketball teams both have tune up games before they start league play January 10th when they host games with Central Wyoming.

WRESTLING - The Bronc wrestlers will open the new year at the "Shane Shatto" invitational tournament in Douglas.

INDOOR TRACK - Sheridan high school indoor track season opens in a week on January 3rd the first competition is set for January 13th.

COWBOY FOOTBALL - The Wyoming football Cowboys whipped Central Michigan in the Potato bowl to go 8-4 on the season making it back to back eight win seasons the last time the Pokes had back to back season's with that many victories was 1998 and 99 under Head coach Dana Dimel.

The Pokes were 10-2 in 1996 under the late Joe Tiller and the best two year run in Cowboy history were the great teams of 1987 and 88 when they had 11 and 10 win seasons the only other time is Cowboy history with back to back seasons with at least 10 wins goes back 50 years.

After Friday's win over Central Michigan here's Head coach Craig Bohl.

And Bohl says winning this game was huge for the program moving forward.

COWBOY BASKETBALL - The basketball Cowboys open MWC play at home tomorrow night against San Diego state. We will have it live for you on KWYO and 106.9 FM broadcast time is 6:30.

COWGIRL BASKETBALL - The Cowgirls open league play Thursday at San Diego state it will be live as well on KWYO and 106.9 FM that broadcast will start at 7:00.

BRONCO FOOTBALL - The Denver Broncos close out the season Sunday at home against Kansas City. The final Bronco broadcast will start Sunday at 12:05 with kick off at 2:25 on KWYO and 106.9 FM.
